English 2 Honors: World Literature and Composition Honors ( 1.0
credit)
In World Literature and Composition students will develop
knowledge of world literature through integrated educational
experiences in the language arts strands that include various modes
of writing, reading, vocabulary enrichment and grammar lessons.
Emphasis will be on representative literature of various cultures
and world literary movements from ancient times to the present,
including fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and drama chosen on the
basis of relationships to contemporary cultural, social, and
literary ideas and concerns.
Honors level courses require students to utilize higher order
thinking skills such as analysis and synthesis, while completing
more rigorous assignments. In addition, more emphasis is placed on
research mastery and project based learning.
